Frequently asked questions
+How is a "mailbox" defined?
A mailbox is one monitored email address (shared or individual). The same human user can have a personal mailbox and an ops shared mailbox — those count as two. Distribution lists that fan out to several mailboxes are billed by destination mailbox.
+What counts as one classification?
Each inbound message that Iris classifies against the logistics taxonomy counts as one classification — including the structured-output JSON. Re-classification of the same message (e.g. after a model upgrade) does not double-charge.
+What counts as one AI reply draft?
Each generated draft reply that is presented to an operator for review counts as one draft, whether or not it is sent. Discarded drafts still count because the model cost has been incurred.
+Do unused bundled credits roll over?
No. Bundles reset at the start of each billing month. This keeps unit economics predictable for both sides; if your usage is lumpy, the prepaid add-on bundles are the cheaper way to absorb the spikes.
+What happens when we exceed a bundle?
You are alerted at 80%, 100% and 120% of the bundle. By default we keep processing and bill the overage at the published per-unit rate. AdminUI lets you set a hard cap per resource — when reached, the relevant action is paused with a clear admin notification.
+Can we Bring Our Own Key (BYOK) for the AI provider?
Yes, on Iris Automate and Iris Operate. With BYOK enabled, model spend goes directly to your provider account and Iris waives the metered AI overage. The flat $200/mo BYOK fee covers the additional governance overhead.
+Is there a free trial?
14 days on Iris Inbox and Iris Automate, no credit card required. Iris Operate is sold via guided onboarding — book a demo and we will scope a 30-day evaluation against your data.
+Annual vs. monthly billing — what is the discount?
Headline prices are annual. Monthly billing is +20% to cover the additional overhead and the loss of forward visibility.
+Can we move between tiers later?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated). Downgrades take effect at the next renewal so workflows that rely on premium-tier features keep running until the end of the paid term.
+Where is our data stored?
You choose EU or US at signup on Inbox / Automate (shared multi-tenant Postgres + Azure Container Apps). Iris Operate offers dedicated single-tenant deployments in EU, US or AU.
+Do you sign a DPA?
Yes — our standard DPA (GDPR Art. 28 + UK addendum) is available on request and is signed as part of every Iris Operate contract. Inbox and Automate customers can request it during signup.
